	La Digue is the third inhabited island in the Seychelles(5 kilometres by 3), and is part of the granite group. It lies 43 kilometers from Mahe and 6 and a half from Praslin. La Digue has still got all the fascination of an untouched world, it has no natural harbor and is protected by the coral reef which circles it together with masses of colossal pink granite rocks which seem to have exploded round the coastline, heaped on top of one another and looking as though they might fall down at any time. The rhythm of local life is relaxed and natural and shoud be lived as such, the beautiful colonial-style houses surrounded by greenery speak of times gone by. [Back]
